PNGI Celebrates International Women’s Day 2019 at Gurgaon

This International Women’s Day, PNGI had organized a panel discussion on the topic “The excellence of women in their professions” on Saturday (9th March 2019). Panelists shared their personal experiences in dealing with the duties of their professions, as well as discussion on the challenges and difficulties that every working woman faces during her career.

In a quest to share the learning, 2nd event on Women’s day concluded successfully at Hotel Fortune Excalibur on 9thMarch 2019, Saturday. The event started with members enjoying the networking Tea. We had National anthem at the outset, which set the tone for the programme. The programme was moderated by Ms Farah Tabassum (Head-HR, Hotel Fortune) Mrs.Ramita (Asstt Secretary of PNGI-Gurgaon chapter, A.M-HR, Bry Air) shared the PNGI presentation.

Mr Salil B. Lal, Chairperson of PNGI in his key note address highlighted the importance of Gender Diversity and focused more on Inclusiveness. He very categorically emphasized on the equal treatment and equal opportunity to be given to women in every field. He further elaborated on the current and proposed activities under the banner of PNGI. Ms Farah introduced the panelists to the audience. Mrs. Meenakshi Khera, Director HR, Fast booking raised an insightful point of women supporting another women is most important at workplace and society at large.

Ms Surabhi Dhingra, Founder POSHA made a valid point of providing safe work environment and also shared few initiatives like creating awareness of POSH at workplace. She also mentioned initiatives like providing self defense workshops and creating awareness at all levels. Ms. Manju Baduni expressed how womanhood works in favoring organizations and she strongly believes that if women come together miracle can happen. However she also mentioned about the safety issue which she faces in her role. Dr Aparna Sethi who was the moderator of the session emphasized upon equality at workplace. Also mentioned women should not use women card at workplace. It is not about men and women, it is about being human. Women from audiences shared their stories and challenges. One of the young women raised a point regarding challenges faced by women after maternity leave. At the same time couple of men praised women’s unique qualities. Mrs.Ibha Lal (Chief Guest-CHRO, Lumax Industries) shared powerful life story with inspirational illustrations of the determination that she displayed consistently from her childhood. Her modesty and steely resolve was most impressive…. commendable. Dr. Aquil Busrai (Mentor of PNGI) Suggested about volunteers for Mentoring and offer to devote 5 days of time for mentoring women.

With presence of more than 60 participants, the response and enthusiasm towards the whole program was scaling upto another heights.The event was hosted by Mr. Salil. BihariLal (Chairperson-PNGI) Mr D.K.Mehta (Vice Chairperson-PNGI) especially thanked to Mr.Salil, Dr.Busrai, Mrs.Ibha, Mr.R.P.Khatana, Mr. Anshu Mehra, Panelists all participants who had taken out time to participate, special thanks to supporting partners: OHSO Sweets (Gifting partner) made an event a memorable one as this time they introduced very exclusive Dates range focusing on women and their health benefits. Vijatshi Software Pvt Ltd (I.T Partner) implemented very informative and innovative Virtuoso to display all activities related to past events and upcoming events, more about PNGI mission, vision, etc. Orange Events and Entertainment (Event partner) added with lot of Colors due to theme based designing and branding.
